The funny things they say

Troy was talking to Morgan about the weather. He told her that we were going to have scary weather on Tuesday (not exactly the best way to refer to something when talking to a 2 1/2 year old). He said something about thunder and her response to him was that Daddy and Jesus make the thunder. Very cute though not sure why she thinks Daddy makes it. When we have heard thunder before, I tell her it is God making it so I suppose that is where she got the Jesus part. I figured that was the easiest explanation for her at this age...we can get in to the science of it all later. :)

Fingers crossed we do not get too much bad weather in a few days. I did not go hurricane crazy when I did my weekly shopping today, but I did pick up a few gallons of water. That is one thing I definitely need to make sure I have on hand to make Logan's bottles!

Logan's update

Finally a little more time to do the previously promised second update regarding Logan. Nick came to visit for almost 2 weeks so we have been extra busy with him. Logan is doing well. He had his 4 month (wow! 4 months already) doctor's appointment on Monday. He weighed in at 15 lbs 10 oz and was 26 1/4 inches long. So that is the 75% for weight and 95% for height. Morgan was the same height at her 4 month visit. Not sure how I got tall kids! He had 3 shots and shrieked like a girl...at least that is what his father says it is. He seems to be getting better at sleeping thru the night, but I do not want to say he definitely is because then I will jinx it. He is rolling over from his back to his stomach and talks like crazy some times. We started him on rice cereal yesterday. He seems to like it well enough.

Whew, that was a lot in one paragraph!! What else has been going on with little bug...he is spitting up more again. Not sure why that is happening. Hopefully it is not something that will be around for awhile. We are not scheduled to go back to the doctor until October. Here are a few recent pictures of Logan.

Morgan update first

Okay, so it has been forever, AGAIN, since I last was on here. Time for me to update the things going on with my babies. I figure the easiest was to do it without a long as heck post is to do them each separately. Morgan is oldest so she is first up...

I can not believe my little girl is starting preschool next week. Albeit only going two mornings a week, but just the same, she is going. We are in the midst potty training. The bribery is in full swing and we are trying to be creative. Today was our first outing in big girl panties and she made it thru a trip to Walmart without an accident...even went pee when we went in the bathroom at Walmart. Make a momma proud. The pride, excitement and dancing that took place before church on Sunday was crazy when she actually went poo in the potty without us even asking if she needed to. Yeah, I know, getting excited about poo, but hey, that is what parenting is all about.

No, Morgan did not get a black eye. They are working on a huge mall/commercial complex about 20 minutes from our house. The first part is a shopping center anchored by SuperTarget (wahoo). The just opened another store in the center last weekend called Ulta (another wahoo). It is a make up, hair, etc store that we had in Maryland and I really like it. I took the kids for the grand opening on Friday. We got our "free" stuff, including eye shadow. I let Morgan have at it with it before bath time that night. Troy is using an ear piece with his cell phone when working in the house. Someone got ahold of it and had to try it out today. That is the first picture. The second is of her "working". She got all over me earlier today because I was sitting at the computer doing something and she needed to work. Go figure. Wonder what she gets paid for her work...

I love the expression in her face. I am sure we have all had that look when at work. :)

Morgan loves to try on Troy's glasses. Unfortunately for her, glasses are probably in her future as her father and I both have bad eyesight.

Logan's professional 3 months pictures

I took Logan to Penney's last Saturday for his first in studio professional pictures. He did such a good job smiling and is so darn cute. I can not wait to see the actual photos when they come in! Here are a few of the pictures. You gotta love the hair! The photographer tried to push it down and told her not to as that is the way his hair is. :)

My weekly post

So I am starting to feel like posting on my blog is going to be a once a week thing even though I really would rather it not be. Seems like trying to find time to do it is getting harder and harder. Oh well, I suppose I should be happy that I get a little time. :)

We do not have much new to report even though it feels like we are always on the go. That is partially due to Troy working from home so much and me trying to get out of the house and thus stay out of his way. Morgan wants to be around her daddy when he is home so it makes it a little hard.

Here are some new pictures from the past few weeks. I did take Logan for his 3 month pictures at Penney's on Saturday. He did really well and gave lots of good smiles. So different from Morgan at that age. We took her in twice to try and get her to smile for the camera at 3 months and she never did.

These first two pictures are comparision pictures. The first is Morgan at 2 months in the baby swing and the second is Logan around the same age in the same swing...almost in the same outfit. Yes, if you come to my house at bedtime, you will probably find my son in a pink sleepsack. He is wearing some of his sister's hand me downs around the house. Anyway, these two are so you compare my kids and tell me if you think they look alike??

One of the groups of moms and kids that we do things with had an outing to go bowling last week. I took Morgan and she had a nice time. It was a little crowded with 8 kids per lane. They had the bumpers up and then had a metal ramp thing the kids could put the ball on top of so it would get some momentum without them having to try and roll it down the lane. She did really well carrying the ball. I would like to take her back again some time.

Morgan and Logan's cousin, Ty, turned 3 a few weeks ago so off to his party we all went. The kids always have a nice time when they get together. July is a busy birthday month for our kids' cousins with Ty (3), Jacob (3) and Nick (10) all celebrating one with in a week.

Just a few of the pictures from the party. We have several "events" coming up in August that I am sure will produce more pictures. Troy's 20 year high school reunion is this weekend. Mine was last year so it is his turn this year, then Pam's next year. Nick will be coming to visit for almost 2 weeks in the middle of August. We will probably take him and Morgan to Busch Gardens. Morgan starts preschool on August 19. I can not believe it!

Lastly, happy thoughts and prayers for a good delivery to my friend, Kristin, in Wisconsin as she is scheduled to have her second daughter tomorrow. Can't wait to see pictures!!!

These few are fingerpainting pictures from today. I had forgotten that I had finger paints for her until we were painting earlier this week. Tonight, Troy was hanging out with her while she painted. She had to come in and show me her masterpiece...herself!! :) Also, note that she has "big girl" panties on. We are working on getting her potty trained. Let me tell you, she definitely knows what it is all about, but only wants to do it on her terms.

My cousin, Melanie, her daughters and her parents came over from the East coast for a few days. Melanie lives in Texas and they come to Florida every summer. We all went out to the beach for a cook out. This is Ty, Morgan and Amanda in the water.
