Random pictures from the past few weeks

I got a little time to upload pictures that were on the camera so here are some random ones.

Little man's room-kind of went for a surf/Hawaii theme

Morgan loves to play in our closet. This day, her choice was Troy's Navy hat.

These few are fingerpainting pictures from today. I had forgotten that I had finger paints for her until we were painting earlier this week. Tonight, Troy was hanging out with her while she painted. She had to come in and show me her masterpiece...herself!! :) Also, note that she has "big girl" panties on. We are working on getting her potty trained. Let me tell you, she definitely knows what it is all about, but only wants to do it on her terms.

This picture is not the clearest, but she is showing her "funky" face. I crack up every time she does this.

My cousin, Melanie, her daughters and her parents came over from the East coast for a few days. Melanie lives in Texas and they come to Florida every summer. We all went out to the beach for a cook out. This is Ty, Morgan and Amanda in the water.

Gotta have a picture of the little man. Here he is hanging out in his Bumbo.

Wow...a few minutes for blogging!

Okay, so I have been MIA. Busy as heck and Troy has been working from home so my computer time has been limited. I will try to do a quick update and then some thing more later in the week.

  • Morgan went to the dentist and has two lower molars coming in. Everything looks great.

  • While looking this past Sunday to see if Morgan's upper molars were coming in, I noticed some red spots on her upper mouth. Took her to the doctor yesterday and she has hand, foot, mouth disease. Apparently it is a common childhood aliment that tends to show up in the summer. I have to keep an eye on her around Logan so she does not pass it on to him.

  • Logan went to the doctor at the same time as Morgan as he has an infected ingrown toe nail. He is on an antibiotic and we have to soak his toe, wash it with special soap and keep it dry. He has a follow up visit in two weeks.

  • Logan started rolling over from back to stomach a few weeks ago. He gets a little mad some times, but is doing really well holding up his head when he gets on his tummy.

  • We had a three day moving sale at mom's house and it went really well. Sold a lot of stuff including her washer and dryer that were not even up for sale. It was really funny. We had not really gone thru the garage and on the first day in the first hour, someone asked if we had another trunk. We had a few in the garage, but told them that we had not gone thru the garage. Well, that started three days of people going thur the messy garage and finding stuff. We were amazed at what they were finding and buying. That was one way to get the garage cleaned out. :) Big thanks to Aunt Carolyn for spending those three days out in the hot, steamy garage as people went thru things.
  • Morgan got in to preschool. A spot opened up and she will start in the fall. She will go on Tuesday and Thursday morning. I think this will be a great opportunity for us all and am very excited about it.
  • We had to cancel our trip to Maryland. Hopefully we will get to head up there some time before the end of the year. Nick will be here in August for a little over a week so we will get to see him then.

That about wraps it up for now. Need to get ready for the day...I am taking Morgan to her first movie in a movie theater this morning. One of the theaters does free movies for the kids in the summer so we are going to Happy Feet this morning.

A cute plea for help

Morgan had asked to go to Chick Fil A so off we went yesterday after going to Target. She loves to go to the one with the play area even though she has a hard time climbing up one or two of the levels. When we have gone before, there have been older kids who help her up, even had one help her down once when she started crying way up in the far off reachs of the play area. So yesterday, she got as far as she could without help. I could hear her saying something and could not figure it out at first since I was feeding Logan and was not able to get up closer. It was the cutest thing though once I did figure out. She was standing there saying "help, help, help" and every time an older child climbed up past her, she would say that plus "I need help please". Oh it was so darn cute. Finally one of the girls stopped and helped her. She stuck with her for awhile and even helped her up a second time.

If you remember from a few weeks ago, I cut Morgan's hair for the first time. I decided to get some inexpensive shears at the beauty supply store so I have something better to do this with and as a result, Morgan got another hair cut this week. Here are a few pictures the day after. I cut her bangs a bit more this time around also.

She looks so different in these three pictures.

Morgan loves her baby brother. :)

These two pictures are of Logan in the same outfit, but 2 months apart. The first is right before we left the hospital to come home. The second is from when he turned two months. Kind of shows how he has grown.

Monkey boy

Just a quick post with a few pictures since the two are still napping. I could not resist the silly monkey t-shirt for our little monkey when I saw it. Morgan has taken to picking out her own clothes and dressing herself (undressing herself much to my dismay as well). As a result, this week, she has worn a Halloween spider shirt, a Bucs jersey and was sporting quite the retro 70's look today. I will try to post more tonight or tomorrow.

Time flies when you are...

sleep deprived. Yeah, the saying is having fun and yeah, we do have fun, but more than that, we have sleep deprivation right now. It has been a bit since I posted last. Not sure what happened, but here I am again.

Logan had a good 2 month check up last Tuesday. Little guy came in at 12 lbs 8 oz and 24 inches. He was 9 lbs 6 oz and 20 1/2 inches at 3 1/2 weeks so he has definitely grown. I said something to his doctor about colic and the doctor laughed. He said he disagreed since Logan went from being in the 50 percentile at his last visit to 75 percentile this time. Logan had his first shots and did not like them at all. He scrunched up his face so hard that it turned beet red except for between his eyes where it turned white. Let out the loudest screams and cries I have heard out of a baby! We go back in 2 months again.

Things have been going well otherwise. He is becoming so alert and interacts with everyone. I watched him batting at a toy on the bouncy seat the other day. He has the cutest smile that he loves to share and is starting to try and "talk". He is still eating like crazy. I have had no luck in getting him to take a bigger bottle which would in turn mean going longer between feedings and possilbly more sleep for mommy. He is eating something like every 3 hours or so...sometimes it is 2 1/2 hours! I so look forward to when he starts sleeping longer at night and does not need to be held so long to get to sleep initially.

We toured a preschool for Morgan last week. There is a wait list of one other child for the class she would be in so I will get her paperwork in with the hopes that they will add two more slots once school starts. It is a Montessori school about 10 minutes from the house that uses a Christian curriculum. She does not have to be potty trained, which is a bonus for us as while she will go occasionally on the potty, we are no where near her being trained. I think that being around other kids who are would help.

Not much else going on. Had a low key Father's Day with Troy. He is back to traveling a lot...North Carolina last week, Atlanta this week. Morgan had her purses and was off to Atlanta yesterday afternoon to see her daddy. She definitely is developing a great imagination to go along with her constantly expanding vocabulary. Very cute.

Have to comment quickly on Tim Russert's passing and his son. I saw an interview with his son yesterday morning on the Today Show and if my children can grow up to be even half as well spoken and, just in general, a seemingly great kid, then I will be happy. I was very impressed with what he had to say, how he said it and how he handled the interview in what is undoubtly a very difficult time. While I will admit to fast forwarding often thru that part of the Nightly News, it was sad to hear that Tim Russert had passed away.

Another weekend is almost gone

Another weekend has almost come and gone. They go so quickly. We spent Saturday running around to Gymboree, mom's house and Neeva's First birthday party. Troy is off to North Carolina for a few days. He will be back on Wednesday so we have scheduled a preschool tour for Thursday morning. I can not believe we are going to look at preschools for Morgan! It seems like she was just Logan's age. I have heard good things about the preschool. It is a Montessori school about 15 to 20 minutes from our house and we do not have to go on 75 to get there which is a good thing with the tanker explosion that happened last week making travel on 75, and in the area in general, a mess.

Little guy is growing and changing so much. He is ready to move in to 3-6 month clothes and his personality is starting to show. Here are a few pictures that Troy took today. Shows little guy's smile. He has really started smiling in the past few days. His two month doctor's appointment is on Tuesday so I will update everyone then as to how much he "official" has gained!

Logan's cute smile

Showing off how much his face has really filled out.

Snow White came for a visit

Snow White came to our house for a visit thanks to a certain little girl's daddy being unable to say no. Troy and Morgan went to Target on Saturday after Gymboree and came home with a Snow White dress. The story is that she would not leave with out it...hmm, okay, if you say so. Anyway, here are a few pictures of her dressed as Snow White. I suppose I should not say much as I am the one who bought her the Sleeping Beauty heels and did promise a princess crown if she uses the potty 15 times.

I have all this baby stuff out at the house now and it seems like there are others in it more often than the actual baby. If it is not one of Morgan's dolls...

it is a cat

or a toddler who out grew it a long time ago, but do not try and tell her that. :)

I guess it is a downfall of being a second child, but I find myself not having as many pictures of Logan. I suppose part of it is trying to juggle the two of them. We are half way thru our first real week of Troy being back to commuting out of state. We are doing okay. Logan is still getting up every 3 hours to eat at night so that is tiring and then today, he did not really nap for long during the day and took a while to finally get to sleep at night. Morgan was really testing me this evening and ended up getting put in her room. I really gotta find time to read some discipline books!!! Anyway, back to Logan and pictures. Here is one from last Sunday right before we left for church. So glad that he did not cry like this during church. He has done really well for us at church and has slept thru every service so far. Hmm, I don't think that is his reflection on Pastor Randy's preaching.
